Meet the GRAINassist Grain Brokers in Victoria
Dion Costigan, Mallee and Central Vic
Dion was born and bred in the Mallee, growing up in Ultima, 30km west of Swan Hill, he has been around grain all his life, Literally.
After leaving school and studying engineering for 12 months, he worked at Grizzly Engineering before moving onto BSC Motion Technology. Eventually he made the move to the family grain cleaning business, where he spent the next 14 years servicing growers from Mid NSW down to the western districts of Vic.
Dion has travelled extensively through out the world, with one trip to the USA for harvest driving trucks in 1999, watching the USA harvest from Texas through to Montana from the heights of his Peterbilt truck.
Dion is married with 3 children and loves all things motorsport, and had a short stint on a farm before joining the GRAINassist team as a Grain Broker in Bendigo.
Matt Lynch, Mallee and Wimmera
Matt Lynch grew up on a farm at Underbool in Victorian Mallee where cereal and sheep were the primary focus. This sparked his interest in agriculture, and he later went on to complete a Bachelor of Agricultural Science and and Bachelor of Business at La Trobe University, Melbourne.
As well as studying he spent time working on the family farm, in bunkers, sample stands at a Melbourne container packing plant, as well as supervising grain quality laboratory for Viterra (formerly ABB) in Melbourne. He is now a Grain Broker at GRAINassist in Eaglhawk.

Louise Staley, Southern Wimmera
Louise Staley’s first association with GRAINassist came about when she and her partner were approached by GRAINassist founder Alastair Beaumont who was having car troubles while visiting growers. Since that time, they have been happy clients of GRAINassist and Louise came on board to work with growers in the Willaura area.
Previously, Louise held an executive position with a major global funds manager, and has completed a Postgraduate Diploma in Finance, is a Chartered Financial Analyst and holds a Masters in Public Policy. Louise is also the Director of the Food and Environment Unit at the Institute of Public Affairs, and her work can be found published in newspapers, reports and on radio. Her areas of expertise include agriculture and rural communities.
